2. understanding the opposite sex.
well, i've seen 1st hand how these 2 things really eat at some people. for 1. it really does chew on me sometimes.. but i've never really asked anything much from my parents and i really decline anyone who would get me a gift "just coz". doesn't mean i can't empathise with the sorry souls who feel that sense of fulfilment being a goal thats ever-harder to reach.
but think of it this way, we're all vessels that are constantly growing in more ways than one due to increased knowledge of what more there is out there and what might be out there. so your expectations increase, thus the saying "ignorance is bliss". but of course, true bliss doesn't lie in being a total air-head. Well, i think..
you will find it when you realise that there's no limit to the possibilities out there, that there's no limit to what you can have. when u get your ducati, you'll realise that thats not IT;there's still that 400k bike that runs on kerosene and goes 400km/h on a helicopter engine. But since there's no limit .. we won't be happy? no. wrong. we learn to define what makes us happy.
if you love riding.. you'll realise one day , after all the billions spent on your ride, what is it about the ride that truly engages you. the speed? the wind in your hair? then you might like sky-diving.. or is it the control.. the feeling of being in a dynamic equlibrium of sorts ,stable, yet seemingly unbalanced? well, then a bicycle can help u achieve that as well. lol so you learn how to identify what you truly want. its not just the fast bike maybe, or the brand name? maybe the "wooos" and "Ahhh"s when you whiz by?
your chocolate bar made you happy coz you knew EXACTLY what you wanted , there and then. for those 10 mins you pleaded with your mom, you weren't thinking about that gameboy, psp, doll, or whatever thing you wished for last chrismas; that chocolate bar was IT. So in the wide wide world thats like a huge 7-11 filled with stuff that dwarf that chocolate bar.. you've got your 10 decades to figure it out. Hope you find your own IT in the end :p
2. i'm increasingly seeing how the men are from venus mars, women are from mars venus adage being acted out by the people around me. what i see as a simple reason to everything a guy does: "coz males are hotwired to work towards sex" , doesn't seem so obvious or even remotely possible to friends from the other planet. Its the root problem and cause of all the misunderstandings of couples lol .
no u say?
2a: some girls know of this adage, and to some extent believe its true. thus they
> i) be very careful around guys, giving them wide berths, making them work for it so benefits will be enjoyed . or
>ii) have no idea of it or do not care for guys or that adage , so they'll be either be deemed as overly friendly or be extremely unattractive to guys coz they don't really care.
>iii) have some inkling of the adage, but believe that somehow, its just a software problem and can be re-written or purged from their system by means of preaching(read:nagging), or going to extreme lengths for the guy EXCEPT fulfill that hardwired need.
so you'll end up with guys getting these general reactions when 1st meeting girls or just becoming friends with them(and the subsequent most probable reaction)
>the cold shoulder.(wha trying to play hard to get?)
>friendly! -chio (wow! is she flirting?/must be interested!)
>friendly.... -butch/not chio/cmi (omg .. lets just keep it friendly ya..)
and then, in a relationship...or going into that phase or , depending on the reactions, OUT of 1..
>totally deny sex, and try to reform the guy by showing him how wonderful she/the world/religion is....(yada yada yada.. bored)
>be comfy enough with the guy to do it(bingo! jackpot! )
>have no clue of the guy's interest..maybe coz that switch aint on yet..(uh.. a .. happy relationship maybe? something's missing, can't quite put it down to something)
>wonder why everyone's always falling for her though she's nice to everyone.(kaoz, wrong signal -.-)
WHEEE everything is related to .. SEX. no point arguing. LOL
*disclaimer : the whole part of the post under "2." is complete and utter rubbish that COULD make sense if you took it with a kilo of salt... and wash it down with a litre of whiskey/vodka,or whatever floats your kidney after that .
