went to squeeze with the crowd at IT SHOW!! thought a certain furry fish would be commenting on some exhibition game there, but well, not even a single booth emphasising games.(console games NOT counted)
microsoft has the largest propaganda machine selling vista as great , good.... etc.. right. well, wait till some hacker gets that virus out that will wipe vista off the map lol
then there's the PS3 launch . wow.. i wonder if it will feel the same playing ps3 on a 15" tv instead of a 105" one. lol but the graphics... well, puts a 2X7950GTX to shame(saw one on display which the shop owner said no-one wanted to buy Lol) Really, the ps3's graphics is DAMN GOOD. even on that big a screen , the lines were smooth and eveyrthing was sharp. or maybe its the screen :X
2 floors of stuff. real cheap deals on the top floor .accesories etc there.
shops to note
BEST BARGAINS . 512MB 667mhz DDR2 ram costs $57!!! 1GB for $107!! OMG OMG
2GB >>mini SD for 28.90, micro for 60.50, SD for 21.70. Lol thats gay man. mini seems to be the one to get!!(since it comes with an adapter)
ACTIVE PHOTO about the same price as Best bargains.
The RAZER booth >> 59 bucks for white razer mouse and white mousepad!!
not much for DIYers like myself looking for MOBO+proc deals.. really sad that only ONE place sells ASUS mobos(Chamoxa), and ONE place sells MSI MOBOs(corbell, the distributor) and ONE place sells GIGABYTE (video pro). Hmph. casings are expensive too :/ couldn't find alot of PSU offerings... Corbell was selling all the $300+ PSUs from Corsair.. crap.
LCD screens are good deals. so the only thing that separates them is DEAD /BRIGHT PIXEL POLICY
let me summarise the brands(prices for 19") price;dead pixel return policy; freebies
Benq (own booth): $299; more than 3 dead/bright 3 yrs; webcam
Samsung (own booth):$299;more than 3 dead/5bright ; Lucky dip
Viewsonic (distributor booth):299;more than 3 dead/bright 3 yrs; not that i noticed
Acer (own booth): 279; DISCLAIMER AT THE BTM OF THE FLYER TELLING YOU THAT DEAD/BRIGHT PIXELS ARE INHERENT FLAW FOR LCD SCREENS; lucky dip
phillips(distributor booth); 329; more than 3 dead/bright 3 yrs; none
LG : 329; more than 2 dead/bright; no free gift that i noticed. OR 389; ZERO dead pixel guarantee; no free gift
summary: LG is what ppl with enough money to spend, and won't mind spending abit more for that quality and assurance. a must buy if you have the dough. if not, go for benq if you dont have a webcam or viewsonic if you dont want the webcam. STAY CLEAR OF ACER, samsung at your own risk, phillips if you've never shopped at all in your life and don't know how to compare prices.
MP3s
Saw the creative promo , 99 bucks for 2GB player with screen and radio! HALLELUGIAH! (ok i can't spell it) but then, its a thumb drive too.. so i can't bring it into camp... which means.. FUCK.
sandisk sanza is nice looking, and so is the samsung Z3. however, i don't think the samsung one is worth the price. too expensive lah... might as well save up for an ipod if you're gonna get that. Sanza, is just another cheap ipod rip off.. WITH A TWIST. you can lay your hands on a 2GB model for less than 200 bucks.. then trot over to best bargains and buy yourself a 2GB MINI SD for 28 bucks, and VOILA!! you have a 4GB player that costs 230 bucks MAX. lol
